Leopards make the most of Mbombela turmoil

ball 5JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – BLACK Leopards will be seeking to exploit the confusion surrounding Mbombela United when the 2017/18 National First Division (NFD) campaign this weekend.
The two sides will clash at the KaNyamazane Stadium in Mbombela on the back of contrasting fortunes and recent history favouring the visitors from the Limpopo Province.
Kick-off is 15h00.
Leopards have been busy in the transfer market having raided fellow Limpopo outfit Magesi to boost their firepower.
Among new recruits from the side include Thembisani Nevhulamba, Khuliso Mudau, Isaac Masia and Rendani Maduwa.
In the previous campaign, Leopards and Mbombela drew 2-2 in the former’s home fixture.
Leopards won the other match 2-1.
Ahead of the weekend’s match, are rocked by the absence of head coach Aschwin Sutton.
He reportedly sought permission to attend to family issues in Johannesburg and executives said he had not reported back for duty a fortnight later.
“We don’t know what is happening with coach Aschwin. He has not been with us for two weeks now,” said Oupa Matsebula, Mbombela co-chairman.
Piet Chauke is coaching on an acting capacity.
Leopards are eager to bounce back to the Premier Soccer League after bowing out in 2012/13.
They narrowly missed out last season after provincial rivals Baroka FC edged them out in the play-offs.
